It is with great sadness that I tell you today of the passing of Norm Woods after a short battle with cancer.

Norm, who was the owner/operator of Golf Scene magazine, was one of the really nice guys in our business. When you bumped into Norm at any golf press conference or function he always had a big smile on his face and you felt better just for seeing him. He always made a point of asking how you were and what was new in your life.

Norm was a big supporter of the Golf Journalists Association of Canada and has been a member since day one and anyone who had any dealings with Norm will miss him a lot.

Norm's son Steve says in lieu of normal funeral arrangements his father wanted an informal open house at a golf course. It will take place at Whistle Bear Golf Club, 1316 Dickie Settlement Rd. in Cambridge on Thursday, September. 1 from 4-7 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to drop by and to share stories of Norm's life.
