Announcement regarding the Annual Writing/Photography awards
The organizing committee has made the decision to extend the deadline for entries until April 30.
We made this decision based on discussions we had with a number of you who made some valid points.
- We got started on this very late this year because we were in the midst of redoing our website and that made it difficult to get the information out to you.
- A number of you pointed out that magazine editors were right in the midst of putting out their first issues of the year and it was difficult to find time to pull together entries.
- The same could be said for writers who were busy writing for spring issues or putting together newspaper golf supplements.
- And a few of you may have even been busy with the Masters.
- We also owe it to our sponsors to make sure we give you all time to put your entries together so that the contest is a good representation of the best golf writing/photography in the country.
I'm sure some, who did get their entries in on time may not like this decision. If that's the case feel free to call me or drop me an email and we can discuss it in depth. By the way, I am among those who did enter on time and I have no problem with the extension. The bottom line is that the deadline for entry has been extended until April 30. If you haven't entered we encourage you do so ASAP. Here are the award details again:
- The Awards will be open to all paid-up GJAC members of the current year.
