Dear GJAC member...
Your executive is excited to announce that our new website is up and running. Please go to www.gjac.ca and have a look at the new features. Our new webmaster and director of communication David Cowx has done a great job of creating the new site and we hope you will find some features that you will find useful.
This is the first of several exciting notes that you will be receiving in the next few weeks. We will be rolling out the annual writing contest soon so please start getting your submissions together.
Robert Thompson, Hal Quinn and past president Rick Young are also close to announcing an exciting initiative involving our annual awards night during the RBC Canadian Open. I'll let them make the announcement when they have the details finalized but it will include an outstanding golf outing in B.C. to play some great courses.
And now to what's really important. Normally, we start hounding you for your membership dues in December and January but we've been delayed this year by the launch of the new website and the creation of new way for you to pay your dues. Please read treasurer Grant Fraser's note below and pay your dues as soon as possible. And please remember you must be a paid-up member to take part in the writing contest as well as our other activities and golf outings.
Finally – I have been asked by GJAC member John Gordon, the director of communications for ClubLink to let everyone know of a change in date for the annual Canadian Media Championship. It will now be played Tuesday, July 26 at Wyndance. John will be putting out more information as the event gets closer but he wants you to mark the date on your calendar.
Garry McKay, President
